Established in 1910, the St. Louis Zoo in Forest Park is one of the cultural 'gems' in the city. Growing up just minutes from the zoo was like practically having my own menagerie! This zoo is generally supported by local tax payers, making it free and open to the public to visit anytime. This was awesome because it meant that we could literally pop in for a quick visit to see the penguins in their arctic habitat, or spend a longer time in the sun exploring “Big Cat Country” and the giraffes and elephants. It allowed us to develop a more informal relationship with this special place. The hippos are also a fan-favorite, especially when they are splashing around in the pool! This collection is a collection of colorful reflections on the animals. Do you have a favorite animal or exhibit at the zoo?
